Written by Krista McGee, First Date is a story about a teenage girl named Addy Davidson who gets asked by the principal of her Christian school to take part in The Book of Love, a reality show where the President's son, Jonathon, chooses someone to be his prom date. Addy is a very shy girl who would rather stay away from the spotlight. But she's forced by her uncle and principal to be on the show. Once in the competition, Addy must compete with 99 other high school girls who would love a chance to be with Jonathon. "Addy's totally out of her comfort zone but that may be right where God can show her all that she was meant to be."
The book itself is a little over 300 pages. Its a very simple and quick read. I really did enjoy it. There are a lot of spiritual and religious elements in this novel, which i didn't mind. It actually made the character seem more real and relatable. There was humor, romance, friendship, and so much more in this novel. I totally recommend this book for teenage girls. It's really about finding yourself and being couragous and strong in times where you might feel out of place and alone. I also loved Addy's friend Kara, who is having her own spin off book :) Super excited
